Getting to the Start

From Port Townsend, follow the signs to Fort Worden. Enter in the South gate. Turn right toward the east end of the Fort and follow the road along the waterway to the large pier. There is plenty of parking along the beach and for those with trailers any one of two parking lots further out on the left-hand side.
Discover Pass Required

Please Note: the trailer launch ramp at the Marine Science Center pier is closed indefinitely. The closest recommended alternative is the public ramp at the corner of Water and Monroe Streets in Port Townsend.

Race Registration

Register on Pacific Multisports. Registration is open until 5pm June 14. No in-person or day-of-race registration is allowed for this year’s race.

Race Start

10:00 AM One Start. All classes. Both Courses.

Race Course

Both long and short courses start and finish at Fort Worden State Park, near the kitchen shelter. From the start line, both courses proceed SE and pass to the shore side of two race buoys near Point Hudson.
The short course rounds these two buoys counterclockwise then returns to the finish line.

The long course continues past these two buoys, SE across Port Townsend Bay to round Rat Island counterclockwise, then returns to the finish line.

Entry Fees

$20 SR members and juniors; $25 non-member adults

Ribbons awarded for 1st-3rd by category.

Post Race

30th Anniversary Rat Island Regatta t-shirts available here, some shirts will be available at the race for donation.  Two soups/chowders and other post-race food included in registration fee.
