A race for all human powered watercraft in often placid, sometimes choppy waters with northerly winds.
Getting to the Start
Leave I-5 at Exit 133 onto SR 705 (By the Tacoma Dome). Continue straight onto Schuster Parkway which runs along the bay.
As you approach the two gray navy ships parked along shore get in the left lane which loops over the railroad tracks and down along the shoreline onto Ruston Way.
Drive past most of the waterfront restaurants. The race start is in the park just this side of the Lobster Shop Restaurant (4015 Ruston Way).

Race Course
The race is a 6 mile clockwise triangle. Starts and finishes at the Lobster Shop park pier. Turn #1 is the yellow Puyallup River channel buoy and turn #2 is the Simpson Mill sawdust barge buoy off the mouth of the Thea Foss waterway. PFD’s required in all boats – mandatory, one per racer. Depending upon conditions, race director may require they be worn.
