Take the Lakeway Drive exit off I-5 (exit #253), and head east on Lakeway drive for approximately a mile and a half. Then take a left on Electric Ave., and proceed for another mile and a half until you come to the Bloedel Donovan Park entrance on your right. Once in the park drive to the boat launch area.
The course starts at Bloedel Donovan Park, and bends down the lake to Reveille Island, where participants will circle it counterclockwise, and back to the start/finish line.
New this year is a short course option! The course will be one of the following:
Long Course: Evan Jacobs and Tyler Peterson, 2009, 1:27:30.6 in a 2x.
Short Course: Eric Wermus, 2009, 43:09.1 in an HPK.
Members and Juniors: $8 per person
Non-members: $16 per person
Non-members in boats of 3+ competitors: $11 per person
New for 2009! The Whatcom Classic is now open to on-line registration through active.com. Pre-registration may seem pretty foreign to most paddlers, but it sure is helpful to the race director and saves time on race day.
